Howdy,
I'm Jay and I started this blog in March 2012. The idea behind it being to keep me accountable and get me to climbing the grade of E5. Or as I originally worded it;
The following blog is an account of the training methods, both physical and mental, which are being used so an average rock climber can consider himself 'not half bad at this climbing malarkey' or in technical language: to climb the British rock climbing traditional grade of E5 and above.
As I write this about section it's 9th May 2013, and have I climbed E5? Nope, not even close! So did it work, well no but it has made me realise that (a) it's still totally possible I just have to want it enough to train hard enough to do it (b) it's not just about climbing a particular grade or route, it's about having fun and doing something which makes you happy!
I'm also currently studying for a PhD in Bio - Physics. I have until September and then I shall be free from the shackles of it and able to take the next step forward in my life (get a van and become a climbing nomad is certainly on the cards).
Check out the previous posts and new and up coming posts about where I've been and what I've been up to. Also what my plans are because I still want to climb E5, and as I've recently found I'm not quite as past it as I thought I might be.
Thanks for checking out my blog, any comments are appreciated and it'd be great to get some feedback!
